Singapore stocks close 1.41 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 36.68 points, or 1.41 percent, to close at 2,644.58.

A total of 1.15 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.45 billion Singapore dollars (1.04 billion U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 262 to 132, while 529 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 67.95 points, or 2.68 percent, to close at 2,607.90 on Monday. Enditem
