Cabinet appoints, removes officials

The State Council, China's Cabinet, announced the appointment and the removal of several senior government officials on Monday.

The State Council appointed Xiao Yaqing head of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), removing Zhang Yi from the post.

Xiao will no longer hold the post of deputy secretary-general of the State Council.

Gong Qinggai was removed from the post of deputy head of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

The Cabinet also relieved Liu Yanguo from the post of deputy head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs. Endit
