3 dead in S.Korean army chopper crash

Three South Korean military personnel have been killed on Monday when their helicopter crashed in the country's east region, Yonhap news agency cited military authorities as reporting.

The UH-1H Army helicopter went down at about 10:10 a.m. (0110 GMT) in the eastern city of Chuncheon.

The chopper crashed into a farmland beside an aviation corps while conducting a functional checkout flight.

Four soldiers aboard the chopper were rescued and taken to nearby hospitals, but three died while being treated. The remaining one is suffering heavy injury, but reportedly has consciousness.

No other damage and casualty has been reported. The exact cause of the crash is being investigated. Enditem
