2 Palestinians shot dead in fourth attempted attacks in one day

Two Palestinians were killed after attempting to shoot Israeli border police guards in east Jerusalem late Sunday, the Israeli police said.

The two assailants, armed with improvised weapons, opened fire at policemen and members of the paramilitary border police unit near the Damascus Gate in east Jerusalem, police said. Both were shot and killed, while no police officers were injured.

This is the fourth attempted attack during the last 24 hours.

Twenty-six Israelis and more than 160 Palestinians have died in an eruption of violence since October, 2015. Endit
