Spring Festival tourism revenue up 16.3 pct

China's tourism revenue surged during the Spring Festival holiday, the National Tourism Administration said on Sunday.

Tourism revenue reached 365.1 billion yuan (55.7 billion U.S. dollars), up 16.3 percent year on year, according to the administration.

The number of tourists during the seven-day holiday topped 302 million across the country, up 15.6 percent.

Overseas travel became more popular, with outbound group travel tourists hitting 8.56 million, up 3 percent from the same period last year, according to statistical data from domestic airlines. Endi
