Modi inaugurates Make in India center in Mumbai

Xinhua, February 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Saturday inaugurated the Make in India center, showcasing various national and international pavilions in Mumbai.

Make in India is the Indian government's flagship initiative launched last year to encourage international companies to manufacture their goods in India.

Local TV channels showed footage of Modi walking through the center, flanked by Swedish Premier Stefen Lofvan and Finish Prime Minister Juha Sipila.

The Indian prime minister tweeted Friday night about the Make in India week in Mumbai, which is aimed at promoting this country as a preferred manufacturing destination.

"Will be in Mumbai tomorrow where I will launch the #makeinindia week, an effort to provide greater impetus to @makeinindia initiative," he wrote. Endit
