Huracan players injured after bus overturns

Xinhua, February 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Two Huracan players suffered minor injuries when their team bus veered off a road and overturned after a Copa Libertadores qualifying match in Venezuela.

The incident occurred near Caracas airport on Wednesday after the Argentine outfit secured their place in the group phase of South America's top club competition.

It is believed the driver lost control of the vehicle due to a brake failure.

The injured players, Patricio Toranzo and Diego Mendoza, were taken to hospital as a precaution, local media reported.

"We are okay. The guys who were injured are being looked after. Our families can rest easy," Huracan forward Ramon Abila wrote on Twitter.

Huracan lost Tuesday night's match 2-1 in the Venezuelan capital but progressed on the away-goals rule after winning the first leg 1-0. Endit
