Morocco's Football Federation sacks national coach

Xinhua, February 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) sacked on Wednesday national team coach Badou Zaki.

The Federation cited unstable technical choices, inconsistent results and concerns over the future of the team as the reasons to terminate Zaki's contract after more than 20 months.

Zaki, who led Morocco to second in African Cup of Nations in 2004, has been under fire recently for his unconvincing record in his second mandate as the head coach of the national team.

Local media reported French coach Herve Renard is one of the targets of FRMF.

The Moroccan squad is currently leading Group F of qualifying competition of the 2017 African Cup of Nations. Endit
