U.S. stocks fell Tuesday amid turmoil of global market.

By noon, the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 74 points, or 0.46 percent, to 15,953. The S&P 500 lost 7 points, or 0.36 percent, to 1,846. The Nasdaq Composite Index moved down 16 points, or 0.36 percent, to 4,268.

Japanese equity market plummeted more than 5 percent Monday as jittery investors fled to safe-haven assets. European stocks also suffered broad loss, with the Stoxx Europe 600 Index falling 2.4 percent Tuesday.

A number of factors continue to drag the markets down, including declining oil prices and mounting concerns over the prospect of global economy.

Oil prices have lost around 20 percent since the start of 2016 as market expected the supplies to exceed the demand.

U.S. stocks moved down Monday, as Wall Street meditated on a batch of weaker-than-expected economic reports. Enditem
