Bangladesh earns over 19 bln USD from exports in July-January of 2015-16

Bangladesh's total exports in the first seven months of the current 2015-16 fiscal year (July 2015-June 2016) exceeded 19 billion U.S. dollars, 2 percent higher than the target for the period, official data showed Tuesday.

According to the country's Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) data, Bangladesh fetched 19.027 billion U.S. dollars from exports in seven months of the current fiscal year.

The EPB data showed export performance for January was 3.19 billion U.S. dollars, 10.38 percent higher than that in the same month a year ago.

Bangladesh export income in the last 2014-15 fiscal year (July 2014-June 2015) grew at a moderate rate of over 6 percent to 31.21 billion U.S. dollars.

The country set its export target in 2015-16 fiscal year at 33.5 billion U.S. dollars. Endit
