Sudan's president to implement national dialogue recommendations

Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday vowed to implement recommendations from the National Dialogue currently underway in Khartoum.

Al-Bashir on Monday received from Khartoum State Governor Abdel-Rahim Mohamed Hussein recommendations of the community dialogue in which students, women and workers' categories took part for three months in Khartoum state.

"The recommendations presented by the committees of the national and community dialogue, which is nearing its end, has set up solutions for all issues of the country and left no chance for mercenaries who are funded by the U.S and Israeli intelligence," said al-Bashir when addressing a mass rally in Khartoum Monday.

"We say to the mercenaries who are staying in hotels abroad and who are funded by the American and Israeli intelligence- to all those who are staying in hotels in Washington, Paris and Tel Aviv, that you are now outside the calculations of the Sudanese people."

He said the recommendations of the community dialogue "are orders by the Sudanese people to the president and his government," reiterating that the government would implement those recommendations.

He said the national dialogue did not come as a result of weakness or in response to the dictations or pressure, but a political program based on a firm conviction and belief to address the country's issues.

In October 2015, al-Bashir opened the sessions of the national dialogue conference in Khartoum with the participation of a number of Sudanese political parties, civil society organizations and some Darfur armed groups.

However, major political parties and armed movements have rejected to participate in the conference, including the Revolutionary Front Alliance, which brings together the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/ northern sector and the major Darfur armed movements.

The conference, which is scheduled to conclude sessions on current February 10, discussed six major issues including peace, identity, rights and freedoms, economy, external relations and governance.

In January 2014, al-Bashir declared an initiative calling on the opposition parties and the armed groups to join a national dialogue to end the country's crises. Endit
