Six people, all civilians were killed and nine others injured as a blast rocked Yahya Khil district in the eastern Paktika province on Monday, deputy to provincial government Attaullah Fazli said.

"The blast occurred in front of a bakery of a bazaar in Yahya Khil district at around 12:30 p.m. today killing six people and injuring nine others," Fazli told Xinhua.

All the victims are civilians, the official asserted, saying no security personnel was present at the site during the blast.

However, he couldn't say if the blast was a suicide attack, saying investigation has been initiated into the case. Endit
