The Three Gorges Dam scenic spot, overlooking the world's largest hydropower project, will limit the number of tourists to a maximum of 30,000 people daily during the Spring Festival holiday, the company announced on Saturday.
The scenic spot will be closed on Feb. 7, Chinese New Year's eve, and will reopen and limit tourist numbers from Feb. 8 to Feb.13, according to the Yangtze River Three Gorges Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
Tourists can visit from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. by making real-name reservations online or booking with their identity cards on the spot.
The dam in central China's Hubei Province has offered free entrance for domestic and overseas Chinese since September 2014 and tourism has boomed since then.
It received over 2 million tourists in 2015 as one of five major tourist sites along the Yangtze River and the country's largest industrial tourism site. Endit
