At least 13 passengers were injured when four coaches of a passenger train derailed in the Vellore area of the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu Friday morning, said police.

Authorities have rushed medical personnel and rescue teams to the spot of the derailment of the Bangalore Express passenger train, while affected passengers were sent to Bangalore by buses and a special train.

Four trains were cancelled as a result of the incident, said railway officials. Enditem
