Bayern Munich loan Spartak Moscow's Serdar Tasci

Xinhua, February 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Bayern Munich sign former Stuttgart defender Serdar Tasci from Spartak Moscow until June 2016, the German giants said in an official statement on Monday.

At the final day of the transfer window, Bundesliga front-runners Bayern reacted on their injury crisis and signed Serdar Tasci on loan until the end of the season. Tasci's contract includes an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The 28-year-old defender is said to compensate the injuries of Bayern defenders Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez.

"We are delighted that we have been able to sign a player like Serdar Tasci on short notice. With his experience and quality he will be able to help us immediately," Bayern Munich's sporting director Matthias Sammer said.

Before joining Russian outfit Spartak Moscow in 2013, the Germany international played 14 years for Stuttgart to score nine goals in 181 appearances.

"I feel very good and I am looking forward to the challenge. I hope I can help the team," Tasci, who lifted the Bundesliga title with Stuttgart in 2007, said.

The German record champions sit atop the standings in the Bundesliga. They meet 4th placed Leverkusen at the 20th round on Feb. 6. Endit
