Monchengladbach's Josip Drmic joins Hamburg on loan

Xinhua, February 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

Hamburg agreed on a loan deal with Monchengladbach to sign striker Josip Drmic on loan, both Bundesliga teams announced on Monday.

The "HSV" have completed the signing of Monchengladbach's striker Josip Drmic, who penned a loan deal until the end of the campaign at the last day of the transfer window.

"Josip has repeatedly proved his qualities in the Bundesliga. He brings already a lot of experience despite his young age," Hamburg's sporting director Peter Knaebel said.

The 23-year-old Swiss international joined just at the beginning of the season from Bayer Leverkusen to Monchengladbach where he never made the breakthrough. However, Drmic scored overall 24 goals in 71 Bundesliga appearances.

"I am glad that the transfer finally worked out. I am highly motivated and prepared for the tasks with the HSV," Drmic said.

The "HSV" occupy the 11th place in the standings. They host Cologne at the 20th round in Bundesliga on Feb. 7. Endit
