Torres looks for goals to secure future

Fernando Torres is in a difficult situation at Atletico Madrid which could force him to leave the club at the end of the current season.
The FIFA banned Atletico from making any signings for the next two transfer windows as punishment for irregularities in their youth system.
The punishment means the striker, who is currently in the last six months of a loan agreement from Chelsea, may not be able to make it permanent.
The signing ban has been temporarily suspended while Atletico (and Real Madrid who have been given the same punishment) carry out appeals, but if those appeals have failed by the summer, Torres will have to move on.
"The message I want to give is one of unity," said Torres at a publicity act on Monday.
"The fans are worried by the moment of form we are in and there is no sense looking beyond that," he said, adding that he knew perfectly well what was at stake.
"I am 31 years old and I'm not a kid anymore. I take things very seriously, but personal issues are of secondary importance right now."
The striker said he had to shake off an ankle problem which has stopped him playing in recent games and then to "get some games in and score goals."
"The fact the signing ban has been suspended for the moment changes nothing at all. My aim has always been to win with Atletico Madrid. All I want to do now is to be able to play again and to be able to enjoy playing as many games as possible wearing the Atletico shirt, which is what I love most," he explained. Endit
