Mainland flight transfers through Taiwan launched

Xinhua, February 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

A flight transfer program to and from Chinese mainland through Taiwan was launched Monday in three mainland cities, a mainland association said.

The Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) said the association coordinated with Taiwan's Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) on the issue, and reached an agreement.

Mainland passengers will not enter Taiwan, nor they will be checked or their visas sealed when flying through Taiwan's Taoyuan Airport to other destinations.

Flight transfers through Taoyuan International Airport will first be limited to flights to or from the cities of Nanchang, Kunming and Chongqing.

Taiwan promised to improve catering facilities and other facilities for transfer passengers. Endi
