Vietnam party official stresses importance of Vietnam-China ties

A senior official of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) emphasized the importance and special nature of relations between Vietnam and China on Friday.

Vuong Dinh Hue, head of the Economic Commission of the CPV Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with Song Tao, special envoy of General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Xi Jinping.

At the meeting, Song said the development of both nations can be seen as opportunities for each other as China and Vietnam are friendly neighbors and socialist countries under the leadership of communist parties.

Song, who is also head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, expressed his hope that the two sides will join efforts to implement consensus reached by the two party chiefs, strengthen alignment of strategic development plans and deepen pragmatic cooperation in trade and economy, so as to promote the bilateral relations in a healthy and stable manner.

Hue, for his part, said the visit of Song as Xi's special envoy, reflected the importance and special nature of the Vietnam-China relations.

Vietnam stands ready to work with China to deepen cooperation and exchanges in various fields, and promote trade and economic relations for further development of bilateral ties, he added.

On the same day, Song also met with Hoang Binh Quan, head of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for External Relations.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on cooperation between the two parties as well as issues of common concern. Endit
