Bremen sign Olympiacos midfielder Sambou Yatabare

Sambou Yatabare joined Werder Bremen after putting pen to paper on a three- and-a-half-year deal, the "Green-Whites" confirmed via the club's official homepage on Thursday.

The 26-year-old Mali international moved from Greek outfit Olympiacos F.C. to stay with Bremen until June 2019.

"With Sambou, we signed our desired player. We are pleased that we were able to convince him of Bremen. He gives us more options in the midfielder and increases the quality of our squad," Bremen CEO Thomas Eichin said.

The midfielder made 18 appearances and scored two goals for Mali's national team. Yatabare played since 2013 for Olympiacos F.C. but spent the most time on loan at other clubs. He played recently for Belgian club Standard Liege.

"Sambou has already gained some experience but he still can evolve. He is an aggressive midfielder, who is versatile as he can play defensively as well as offensively," Bremen sporting director Rouven Schroeder said.
