Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin signs for Shanghai Greenland

Colombian media hailed the recent transfer of Colombian soccer player Fredy Guarin to Chineses Super League side Shanghai Greenland FC from Inter Milan.

"Greenland announces the signing of Colombian midfielder Fredy Guarin from Inter Milan," the Chinese team announced on its official social networks.

The news was confirmed on Wednesday in Bogota after rumors in Italy circled about the midfielder's departure from Inter Milan.

Soon after,the player posted pictures of his contract signing with a Greenland representative.

Even though the team has not confirmed the amount it paid for Guarin, Italian media have reported the transfer was worth 12 million euros (about 13 million U.S. dollars).

Fredy Alejando Guarin Vasquez, 29, was born in Puerto Boyaca, located in the eastern department of Boyava, and has 58 caps and four goals for the national team.

Shanghai Greenland and its coach, Spain's Gregorio Manzano, formally welcomed Guarin to China on Wednesday. Endit
