Chinese players all out of Australian Open

Xinhua, January 27, 2016 Adjust font size:

The last Chinese hope at the Australian Open has been eliminated, after the doubles pair of Zheng Saisai and Xu Yi-Fan were beaten in three sets in their women's doubles semi-final on Wednesday.

The No. 15 seeded Chinese women won the first set of their doubles match against Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, and looked likely to run away with the match, but the Czech pair rallied to win a hard-fought second set.

Hlavackova and Hradecka, ranked seventh, then ran away with the match, winning the final set in just over half an hour.

The match ended 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, with the Czech pair to play the winner of Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza versus Julia Goerges and Karolina Pliskova who face off on Wednesday night. Endit
