Tokyo shares jump over 2 pct by break on rising oil prices

Tokyo issues ended the morning session sharply higher on Wednesday as sentiment here was boosted by rallies in the overnight U.S. stocks market and rebound in oil prices.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average surged 427.33 points, or 2.56 percent, from Tuesday to 17,136.23.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 36.78 points, or 2.70 percent, to 1,397.01. Endit
