At least 35 people were killed and 60 injured in five suicide bomb attacks in Cameroon's Far North Region on Monday.

One army source told Xinhua five women who pretended to be vegetable vendors detonated the bombs hidden in their vegetable baskets at around 11:30 a.m. (1030 GMT) on Monday in Bodo, a town in Far North Region, killing at least 35 people, including themselves, and injuring 60. AMSTERDAM -- Several European Union member countries have asked the European Commission to "prepare the legal and practical basis" for the extension of temporary border controls within the Schengen free-travel zone, Dutch Minister for Migration Klaas Dijkhoff said on Monday.

"The high influx of immigrants had led some member states to introduce border controls. Currently, temporary borders measures can be taken only for a limited period of six months. But the unprecedented influx of asylum seekers have not decreased yet," Dijkhoff told the press following the first day of the informal meeting of EU Justice and Home Affair Ministers in the Dutch capital. KUALA LUMPUR -- At least 13 Indonesian illegal immigrants drowned after their boat capsized on Tuesday in waters off Malaysia's state of Johor, according to Malaysia's state news agency.

Bernama quoted a local police chief as saying that strong winds and high waves led to the overturn of the boat. (Malaysia-Immigrants-Drowning)

DAMASCUS -- At least 15 people were killed and many others wounded on Tuesday by two explosions that rocked Syria's central city of Homs, the state news agency SANA said.

A booby-trapped car ripped through a pro-government district of Syria's central city of Homs, followed by another explosion carried out by a suicide bomber, who detonated his explosive belt in the same district Tuesday, SANA reported. (Syria-Conflict) Endi
