Singapore stocks close 0.22 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 5.55 points, or 0.22 percent, to close at 2,582.64.

A total of 910.1 million shares changed hands with turnover of 1.4 billion Singapore dollars (979 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 215 to 177, while 531 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 44.39 points, or 1.75 percent, to close at 2,577.09 on Friday. Enditem
