1st LD: India, France sign MoU on purchase of Rafale fighters

Xinhua, January 25, 2016 Adjust font size:

India and France Monday signed an MoU on purchase of Rafale fighter jets, the delayed multi-billion U.S. dollar arms deal between the two countries, said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"We are very happy that we have formed an agreement for purchaseing 36 Rafale aircraft with France," Modi said after a meeting with French President Francois Hollande, who is on a three-day visit here.

India and France agreed upon the deal, the biggest for India in decades in arms purchase, in the end of 2012, but failed to implement due to price differences and terms of transfer of technology and productions. Enditem
