Portuguese Social Democratic Party candidate Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa won the presidential elections on Sunday, who will lead debt-ridden Portugal in the next five years, local TV reported.
According to the preliminary result of the elections, Rebelo de Sousa garnered 52 percent of the votes after 98.77 percent of votes were counted. (Portugal-President-Election)

VIENTIANE -- Two Chinese nationals were killed and another injured in a suspected bomb attack in Xaysomboun province of Laos on Sunday.
The Chinese embassy confirmed the incident, saying it took place at 8:00 a.m. local time when the victims, one of whom was an employee of a mining company from China's Yunnan province, were on board of a vehicle. (Laos-Chinese-Attack)

MANAGUA -- The death toll from a boat that capsized in Nicaragua's Caribbean Sea on Saturday has reached 13, said a naval official on Sunday.
All 13 bodies, 11 women and two men, have been identified as Costa Ricans and one of the victims was under 13 years old, said Chief of the Caribbean Naval District Commander Mario Berrios Madrigal. (Nicaragua-Boat-Capsizing)

DAMASCUS -- At least three people were killed on Sunday when twin bombings rocked the predominantly Kurdish city of Qamishli in northeastern Syria, activists and state media said.
The first blast rocked central Qamishli, while the second was caused by a bomb placed in a motorbike which was detonated in the al-Wasati neighborhood in the city. (Syria-Bombing-Casualties) Endi
