Asian TT players dominate Hungarian Open

Table tennis players from Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and South Korea dominated the International Table Tennis Federation's World Tour opener Hungarian Open concluding in Budapest on Sunday.

In an all Chinese Taipei men's singles final, top seed Chuang Chih-Yuan beat Chen Chien-An in four straight games (11-6, 11-8, 11-4, 11-3). This success for Chuang that he collected the fourth ITTF World Tour men's singles title of his career.

Tie Yana of Hong Kong won the women's singles title, beating South Korean Yang Haeun. She succeeded by the very narrowest of seven game margins (11-7, 8-11, 8-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 11-9). This is her ninth ITTF World Tour women's singles title.

Players from Chinese Taipei triumphed in the men's doubles, with Chuang Chih-Yuan taking his second victory together with Huang Sheng-Sheng, winning over the Belgian duo of Robin Devos and Cedric Nuytinck (11-7, 11-2, 2-11, 11-7).

The South Korean duo of Jeon Jihee and Yang Haeun won the women's doubles following Yang's second place in the singles, over Jiang Huajun and singles winner Tie Yana of Hong Kong. They won the title in a full distance five games contest (11-8, 5-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5).

Nearly 400 players from 56 countries and regions competed at the Hungarian Open which kicked off on Wednesday.
