Spanish treasury places 4.05 bln euros on market

The Spanish treasury on Thursday placed treasury bonds worth 4.053 billion euros (4.37 billion U.S. dollars) on the market registering a demand of more than 7 billion euros.

A total of 3.218 billion euros worth of three-year treasury bonds fetched an average interest rate of 0.291 percent, while the placement also included 835.77 million euros worth of 15-year treasury bonds that carried an average interest rate of 2.313 percent, compared to the 2.008 percent of the previous issue.

So far, the Spanish treasury has placed 18.6 billion euros of medium and long term bonds on the market, which represented 14.9 percent of the country's financial goals for the year. (1 euro= 1.08 U.S. dollars) Enditem
