Tottenham Hotspur wants permanent transfer of Andros Townsend

Xinhua, January 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

Newcastle United wanted to loan Andros Townsend from Tottenham Hotspur but Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy said he wanted a permanent deal.

According to Daily Mail, Newcastle made an offer to Tottenham, but Levy wanted all the interested parties to meet his 14 million pounds valuation as he fears a loan could affect his future selling price.

24-year-old Townsend has struggled to hold down a regular role under manager Mauricio Pochettino and is now keen to leave in order to increase his chances of representing England at EURO 2016.

Newcastle are said to be plotting a move to reinforce their squad this month and are already being linked with a number of possible targets. Endit
