Tokyo shares end higher by break on weaker yen

Tokyo shares ended the morning session higher on Thursday on the yen's retreat against U.S. dollars.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 265.92 points, or 1.62 percent, higher from Wednesday to 16,682.11.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 17.66 points, or 1.32 percent, at 1,356.63. Enditem
