Average of 1,500 refugees continue passing daily through Croatia: reports

Xinhua, January 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

An average of 1,500 refugees and migrants continue passing through Croatia daily, local media reported on Wednesday.

Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar said his country would immediately close its border with Croatia if Austria adopts measures to curb the inflow of refugees.

Croatia also said it would react with similar tit-for-tat measures on its border in such a scenario.

A total of 598,520 refugees have crossed Croatia since middle of September last year, according to statistics from the interior ministry. Enditem
