Record sales for Dutch chip equipment producer ASML

Dutch chip equipment producer ASML posted a record net sales of 6.287 billion euros (about 6.85 billion U.S. dollars) in 2015, the firm announced Wednesday.

In 2014, their turnover was 5.856 billion euros, which also was a record. Net profit rose from 1.197 billion euros in 2014 to 1.387 billion euros in 2015.

In the fourth quarter of 2015 net sales were 1.434 billion euros, while net income was 292 million euros in Q4 of 2015.

"Our full-year 2015 net sales marked a new record, including service and field option sales that rose to a record of 2 billion euros," said CEO Peter Wennink.

"We expect 2016 first-quarter sales at approximately 1.3 billion euros and we expect second-quarter sales to increase significantly from the first-quarter level," said Wennink. (1 euro = 1.09 U.S. dollars) Endit
