Xinhua, January 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

Dual London Olympic gold medalists Sun Yang and Ye Shiwen will lead a 24-strong Chinese National team to compete in next month's 2016 Perth Aquatic Super Series against Australia and Japan.

World champion Ning Zetao and Fu Yuanhui will not show up in the competition.

Sun and Ye will join Australia's reigning world champions Emily Seebohm, Bronte Campbell and Mitch Larkin along with Japanese stars - two-time Olympic medalist Takuro Fujii and women's world championship breaststroke medalist Rio Kaneto.

Some swimmers in Chinese national team have been in Australia for winter training for a few days. Therefore the competition will be a good opportunity for Chinese national team to evaluate the outcome of this training session.

Sun Yang will compete in 400-meter, 800-meter and 1500-meter freestyle, and his arch rival will be Australia's Mack Horton.

Ye Shiwen will take part in 200-meter and 400-meter medley, and it would be her first formal competition in six months.

The Aquatic Super Series will be held in Perth, Australia on February 5 to 6. Endit
