A.S Roma terminates contract with Ashley Cole

Xinhua, January 20, 2016 Adjust font size:

A.S. Roma made an official statement on Wednesday that the contract of the England left back Ashley Cole had been terminated by mutual consent. Cole therefore becomes a free agent.

It is widely reported in Italy that the England left back will venture to the U.S and continue his career in the MLS together with his compatriots Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard.

"The 35-year-old English defender joined Roma in July 2014 following spells with Crystal Palace, Arsenal and Chelsea. The Club would like to thank Cole for his commitment during his stay in Rome and wish him the very best for his future career." The club said in the statement.

Cole made 16 appearances in his first season with A.S Roma. But his athletic performance got worse and he didn't play a game for Roma this season. It is reported that Ashley Cole would probably join Los Angeles Galaxy and become Gerrard's teammate. Endit
