Taiwan stocks close down 1.98 pct

Taiwan's share prices closed lower Wednesday with the weighted index down 155.76 points, or 1.98 percent, to close at 7,699.12, according to news reaching here from Taipei.

Turnover totaled 88.26 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.62 billion U.S. dollars). Enditem
