Iran releases four dual-national prisoners

Xinhua, January 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Iran's prosecutor general said on Saturday that four dual nationals have been released as part of a prisoner swap deal, local media reported.

The news was carried by official IRNA news agency with no details on the names of the freed prisoners.

Iranian-U.S. Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian is among the dual nationals held in Iran.

The announcement came as Iran and world powers led by the United States were expected to finally implement last July's nuclear deal.

The deal will lift international sanctions imposed on the Islamic republic. Endit
