China's Haier to buy GE appliance business for 5.4 bln USD

China's home appliance giant Haier Group said Friday it has reached agreement with General Electric Co. to buy the latter's appliance business at 5.4 billion U.S. dollars.

In a statement filed to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, Haier said the company will continue to suspend trading of its shares. Endi
