Macao's forex reserves rise to 18.89 bln USD by end of 2015

Macao's foreign exchange reserves amounted to 150.8 billion patacas (about 18.89 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of 2015, Monetary Authority of the Macao Special Administrative Region government said Friday.

The reserves increased by 4.9 percent from the revised value of 143.8 billion patacas (about 18.01 billion U.S. dollars) in November, according to the authority's latest figures.

The trade-weighted effective exchange rate index for the pataca, a gauge of the domestic currency's exchange rates against the currencies of Macao's major trading partners increased 5.66 points year-on-year and rose 0.15 points month-to-month to 107.29 in December. Endit
