Tokyo stocks rise in early trade as Wall Street's rally lifts mood

Xinhua, January 15, 2016 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks rebounded from yesterday's rout from the bell, as investor sentiment was lifted by U.S. shares' overnight rally.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 244.22 points, or 1.42 percent, from Thursday to 17,485.17, while the broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 17.77 points, or 1.26 percent, at 1,424.32.

All industry categories on the main section gained ground, with mining, oil and coal products, and shipping-linked shares comprising early advancers. Endit
