Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai and children of the diplomats here at the Chinese embassy on Thursday sent their best wishes to an American boy suffering from cancer.
Dorian Murray, 8, from Connecticut, is a cancer patient who has decided to stop treatment.
His family said on Facebook earlier this week that the boy wanted to be "famous in China", because of the country's Great Wall.
"Dorian, we all know you. We love you. Stay strong," said Cui and students from the embassy's Sunshine School in front of cameras at the gate of the embassy.
Cui said he hopes that Dorian will beat the disease, and fulfill his Great Wall dream. The ambassador also sends the boy a picture album of the Great Wall and a card with best wishes.
"I hope that he will stay strong and do not give up. I want to climb the Great Wall with him," said a 7-year-old Chinese girl.
Since the age of 4, Dorian has been fighting the disease of rhabdomyosarcoma, a type of soft tissue cancer.
After posting his "Great Wall" wish, Dorian has received thousands of responses from China, many with pictures taken on the Great Wall, and with people holding written signs of "# D-Strong". Enditem
