University of Malta opens Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic

Xinhua, January 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

The University of Malta (UM) has set up a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Clinic manned by highly professional doctors from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SHUTCM), according to a statement posted on the UM's official website on Monday.

The UM had also offered a master degree program in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Culture in collaboration with the SHUTCM in October 2015, aiming at attracting doctors and health care professionals from Malta.

The statement said that this course of studies "is to professionally train healthcare personnel in the technique and help them to attain the high standards of practice required by the World Health Organization", and introduced the SHUTCM as "a centre of excellence in China and one of the first four colleges teaching TCM in China."

The acupuncture treatment is the clinic's main service. Endit
