Salzburg's Martin Hinteregger joins Monchengladbach

Xinhua, January 9, 2016 Adjust font size:

Monchengladbach have completed the loan deal with Austrian defender Martin Hinteregger, the "Foals" announced in an official statement on Friday.

The Austrian international arrived from Salzburg and agreed on a six-month loan deal including an option with Bundesliga side Monchengladbach.

"We are very pleased that we were able to sign a top talent on loan, with the option to make the move permanent. Martin can immediately help us because of his qualities," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said.

The defender provided five goals in 138 appearances for FC RB Salzburg since his arrival in 2010. Hinteregger made his debut for Austria's national team in November 2013 and played ever since 10 caps.

The 23-year-old centre back joins his new teammates in Belek, Turkey for the trainings camp before the fourth-placed "Foals" face runner-up Dortmund at the 18th round in Bundesliga on January 23. Endit
