Schalke sign Nuremberg's Alessandro Schoepf

Schalke have completed the signing of Austrian midfielder Alessandro Schoepf, the "Royal Blues" announced on Thursday.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Schalke from second-division side Nuremberg to ink a contract until June 2019.

"We are happy that the transfer worked out. Alessandro is a versatile midfielder with great potential. He fits perfectly to the club's philosophy," Schalke's sporting director Horst Heldt stated.

Schoepf joined Nuremberg in the summer 2014 to score eleven goals in 51 appearances. He made in addition nine caps for Austria's Under-21 national team.

Sixth-placed Schalke encounter Bremen to close the 18th round in Bundesliga on January 24. Endit
