Unknown armed men attacked Indian Consulate in Afghan northern Mazar-e-Sharif city on Sunday night and gun shots is still continuing, police said Monday.

According to police, unidentified armed men occupied a residential house next to the Consulate building at 08:45 p.m. on Sunday and begun targeting the consulate building with assault rifles and hand grenades, which is continuing.

A waiter has been injured in a nearby restaurant, police asserted.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and are trying to capture or kill the attackers, police added. Enditem
