1st LD Writethru: India to ask Pakistan to act against group behind airbase attack within 72 hrs

Xinhua, January 4, 2016 Adjust font size:

India will ask Pakistan late Monday to act against a militant group suspected to be behind the attack upon an Indian airbase last weekend within 72 hours, or will cancel the foreign secretaries' meeting scheduled for this month, local media reported.

Local TV channel CNN-IBN quoted unnamed top official sources as saying that India will provide Pakistan with evidence that the Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit is behind the attack upon an Indian airbase in Panthankot near the Pakistan border last Saturday.

The foreign secretaries's talks, scheduled on Jan. 15 in New Delhi, would depend on whether Pakistan takes action against the group or not, said the report.

"Terror and talks can't go together," the report quoted the sources as saying. Enditem
