The Syrian army has advanced into a strategic rebel-held city in southern Syria amid a collapse in rebel ranks, the army said.

Military units advanced into several areas of the city of Sheikh Miskin, one of the main rebel strongholds in Syria's southern province of Daraa, according to the state news agency SANA. (Syria-Rebels)

MOSCOW -- Russia has started shipping S-300 air defense missile systems to Iran, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said.

"The contract is being executed and paid for. Delivery is carried out, and this contract will be followed by others," Rogozin said in a live interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel. (Russia-Iran)

BULA-BURTE, Somalia -- Two Al-Shabaab militants were killed and seven accomplishes arrested during a security operation by Somali national army and African Union troops in the Central Somalia town of Bula-Burte.

HANOI -- The suspected gunman in shooting case which led to the death of a Chinese man in Vietnam's central Da Nang City in late November was caught, according to local authority.

On Nov. 26, a Chinese national died after a man shot him in the stomach in front of his wife's house in central Vietnam's Da Nang City, some 750 km south of capital Hanoi.

According to Da Nang police, the gunman was later identified also a Chinese national, reported an official online newspaper of Da Nang City. (Vietnam-Shooting) Endi
