Xinhua, December 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Angolan coach Romeu Filemon had been sacked by the country's football federation for "unjustified absence" from work, the federation said in a statement on Monday.

However, Filemon, who took charge in February 2014, complained five days ago that he had not got his salary for eight months.

Angola will be in South Africa for two weeks before heading to Rwanda for the 2016 African Nations Championship to run from Jan. 16 to Feb. 7.

Angola has been drawn with the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Cameroon in Group B.  Endi
