Albania: Volume turnover index in Q3 increases by 0.5 pct

Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said that in the third quarter of 2015, the volume turnover increased 0.5 percent compared with the third quarter of 2014, the Albanian Telegraphic Agency reported on Thursday.

According to INSTAT, however, the volume turnover decreased by 4.7 percent in mining and quarrying and manufacturing. The industrial production volume also presented a fall by 2.9 percent compared with the same period in 2014.

The quarterly change of the volume turnover index was a 5.4 percent increase compared with the previous quarter. This increase was mainly indicated by the activities of trade, construction and manufacturing, which rose by 7.5 percent, 3.7 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, the index presented an increase by 0.2 percent in industry, 4.4 percent in mining and quarrying, and 22 percent in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities. Endite
