Tokyo stocks mixed in morning on lack of cues, lackluster Christmas mood

Xinhua, December 25, 2015 Adjust font size:

Tokyo stocks ended the morning mixed on Friday as a lack of fresh incentives saw investors in a lackluster mood, compounded by a lack of impetus as many market players are away for the Christmas holidays.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 22.49 points, or 0.12 percent, from Thursday to end the morning at 18,812.18.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, however, lost 4.18 points, or 0.27 percent, to 1,519.44 at the morning break.

Notable gainers at the break comprised agriculture and fisheries, as well as insurance-linked stocks, but utilities, iron and steel-linked shares led decliners. Endit
